Ami Warnings new album “Wellen” blends minimalist soul with warmth, intimacy, and a longing for the perfect moment. Across thirteen songs, the Munich-based artist reflects on growing older, human connection, loss, new beginnings, and the feeling of coming home. Carried by sensual guitars, soft harmonies, and laid-back grooves, the album radiates emotional honesty, courage, and lightness.

“Wellen” emerged during one of the most intense periods of Ami Warnings life. In early 2025, she became pregnant with her first child while still performing alongside her father, Wally Warning. Soon after, the family was shaken by his cancer diagnosis; he passed away in September 2025, only weeks before the birth of his granddaughter. These contrasts shape the album throughout: joy and grief, hope and impermanence exist side by side. The songs move effortlessly between ease and melancholy without ever losing their warmth.

Themes of family, identity, and the passing on of values connect the record. Musically, Ami remains true to her intuitive, handmade approach, with most songs written at home on guitar and influenced by pop, reggae, indie, and Latin sounds. Particularly personal are the title track “Wellen”, reflecting on the loss of her father, and the closing song “Heim kommen”, a tender finale about change, family, and togetherness.
