One of Austrias most exciting voices in the new wave of indie, Lil Julez has gained international attention since the release of his acclaimed debut album “It Was A Hoax” (2023). Driven by electrifying live performances and backed by a high-energy band, he has built a reputation as a captivating and emotionally charged performer.
With his new single “Lovebyte” Lil Julez delivers a striking vocal performance that highlights his charisma and songwriting talent. The track introduces a central theme of his upcoming second album “Pleasurecruise”, set for release in June 2026. The song explores romantic relationships between humans and computers. With “Pleasurecruise”, Lil Julez takes a clear artistic step forward. “For the first time, we recorded as a full band,” he says, aiming to capture their raw live energy. Embracing imperfection, he adds that the focus is “more about feeling than precision.” The album’s title reflects a deeply personal process: it describes the flow state he entered while writing – an escape during a difficult period, where he could build his own world and disappear into it, even if only briefly.
Blending a deliberately trashy aesthetic inspired by the ’60s and ’90s with contemporary Gen Z indie, the 26-year-old stands out through his unmistakable voice and instinct for bold melodies. His debut album received widespread radio support across Europe, including a Top-10 entry in the FM4 charts in Austria. As a live act, he has performed on major stages, supporting Geese and The Godfathers, and playing festivals such as LIDO SOUNDS and Waves Vienna.
