THE HOWLERS

After returning in 2025 with the singles “Nightcrawling” and “You Can Be So Cruel” and signing to indie label FLG, London indie rock band The Howlers have announced their new single “Viper”, released in May 2026, alongside details of their second album “Heavy”, due out on October 9th. Driven by urgent riffs and raw energy, “Viper” explores themes of desire, recklessness and emotional consequences, setting the tone for the darker and more impulsive direction of the new record.

Following a transitional period at the end of 2024, frontman Adam Young rebuilt The Howlers as a two-piece together with drummer Toby Richards, giving the band a renewed creative focus. The move followed the success of their self-funded debut album “What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All”, which entered the UK Independent Breakers Top-10 and earned strong support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and major streaming platforms. Extensive sold-out UK and European tours further established the band as a powerful live act.

Produced with longtime collaborator Chris Ostler (Black Honey), “Heavy” was created through an unconventional remote recording process, exchanging demos and ideas digitally before final live drum recordings brought a raw intensity to the album. While the debut album focused on grief and personal loss, “Heavy centers” on the tension between impulse and reality, capturing both the thrill of reckless nights and the emotional clarity that follows. With a major UK and European headline tour planned, 2026 is expected to mark a defining new chapter for the band.
