Following huge success in the USA, Canada, the UK, Mexico, Singapore, Denmark and Germany, fans in Austria can now immerse themselves in the Overworld of Minecraft for the first time: on October 9th 2026, the acclaimed Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will take place at METAStadt in Vienna. The immersive live experience brings the digital world to life and turns visitors themselves into heroes of an exciting rescue mission. Iconic Minecraft worlds, characters, and Mobs come alive right before their eyes – in real life.
With over 350 million copies sold, Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time: Minecraft. Since 2009, players worldwide have been creating and exploring their own worlds made up of millions of blocks in this sandbox adventure, collecting resources, building spectacular structures, embarking on adventures, and defending themselves against creatures known as Mobs. Thanks to its open-world character, diverse biomes, and different game modes, the game offers almost unlimited possibilities for creativity, discovery, adventure, and teamwork.
The ultimate adventure begins
Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue brings all of this to life: In an action-packed quest lasting around an hour through intricately designed worlds, players face a variety of challenges that can be mastered individually or as a team. As in the game itself, the aim is to mine, collect, craft and defend in order to save the villagers from their doomed fate in this story-based adventure – in a race against time. Equipped with ingenuity, team spirit, and the handheld “Orb of Interaction” – a glowing, interactive cube that guides participants through the experience – guests embark on a quest to find the ingredients for a life-saving healing potion. On their mission through iconic worlds, they encounter familiar creatures such as iron golems, skeletons, spiders, and, of course, the legendary creepers.
No prior knowledge is required: Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue offers both Minecraft fans and newcomers an equally exciting and accessible adventure – and a unique opportunity to experience Minecraft in a completely new and immersive way. State-of-the-art technology, creative gameplay, and cooperative challenges merge into a unique live experience for all ages.
